It is with much saddness that we have made the decision to reduce the size of our kennel and breed only on a very limited basis.  The two litters that are available on our Puppies and litters page will be our last for awhile.  We are planning on keeping a couple of the females as pets and possibly to breed next year but our other older dogs will be available to pet and possible breeding homes.  The adults all have basic obedience and are crate trained.  We thank everyone who has purchased pups from us or has sold us some of our breeding stock.  We have enjoyed providing new members of your families for 10 years.  Please still send pictures and updates as we always like to hear how they are doing in their forever homes.

Takoda Kennels is located in Hustontown, South Central Pennsylvania and is owned and operated by Megan and her father Walter Curfman.  Megan is a Licenced veterinary technician and Walter is a retired school teacher/superintendent of schools.  Our Kennel name means "Friend to all" and we strive to socialize our Labradors to be great pets and family members.  We started with our first Labrador Retriever in 1996 and began breeding in 2000.  All of our dogs are OFA certified for hips and now elbows before they are bred and eyes are CERF clear.  Our dogs are mostly bred for pets or field dogs and have the American build or American and English build mixed.  We offer a 27 month hip and eye guarantee and all puppies are vet checked, have their first shots, wormed, and their dew claws removed before going to their new homes.  We have puppies in all three colors [chocolate, yellow, and black] available periodically.
